After living in New York City and working in fashion for over 15 years, locally-born owner Jiwon Paik-Nguyen and her husband, Andrew Nguyen, moved back to DC and fulfilled their dream of opening their own clothing boutique. With Rue 14, Jiwon and Andrew hope to steer away from the mainstream offerings of the larger chain stores and offer customers an experience of shopping at a SoHo boutique by bringing in more diverse and up-and-coming brands without the NYC price tags!

Andrew was formerly a buyer for Brooks Brothers and Jiwon most recently worked as the Director of Production of women's knits & sweaters for Polo Ralph Lauren.
They have also worked for companies such as Theory and J.Crew in the past.

Rue 14 officially opened for business on October 11, 2008.
